Pleasure of Reading (World Book Day)

When people these days are indulging in the attractive world of social media, the pleasure of reading still tastes like old wine brewed to enjoy an idle summer evening. Books have their own world, a world that is the creation of an imaginative mind. These pages shape a story to venture into the unknown side of the reader, taking the reader by surprise at the existence of such emotion, even unknown to the reader itself. It’s a gift from the author's unknown to the reader's unknown. Both journeying to reach somewhere, to meet themselves, the core selves, to find the solivagant looking island inside, hidden among the chaos of daily routine.

Readers could be slow, fast, multiple books at one time, one book for weeks, addict to reading daily, the weekend readers, or even once in a blue moon readers. Well, every speed, timing and intensity needs to be respected. Readers have various reasons to read. Some find divinity in reading, some an escape from reality, some search for solutions, some discover laughter and some read for no reasons. That’s the beauty of reading, you don’t always need a reason to begin, but on the way, you will find one (that I am sure of).

Reading helps you decode your own personality just as writing does. People argue that the world in books is just a figment of the imagination of the author. But to those critics I may suffice, that reality is born of imagination and imagination is born of reality. This may sound confusing at first but ponder about it, observe your surroundings. How many things have come to life as a result of that little figment of imagination? You got your answers, right. As much as those stories are fantasy, they are real somewhere. The idea of a parallel universe or what we call alternate reality has driven many minds. This astronomical concept is a fact for some and fiction for others. Today is World Book Day! To readers whatever kind you are or even if you don’t fall in any kind... Happy Reading! To those who have no passion for reading, it’s fine. May you find your inspiration soon.
