HAPPINESS AND SOLITUDE

๐Ÿ˜ŠHow do you find happiness? Where does it lie? What stops us from being happy? Is it what lies outside that hampers our state of mind, the situations we are in, the people we spend time with? Or maybe something entirely different, something within us but never understood properly. We are transforming into a generation who doesn't know how to spend time with ourselves. When we are left to ourselves, we tend to get confused about what to do. We constantly need something to do, our phones, or music, or someone to talk to. We have lost the art of solitude. We are alone in terms of the way we want to cut the social drama out of our lives. We are alone but that is not solitude. We are engaged in something or other, our brain is always searching for some task to be done even if it is checking the phone for no reason. We just want to be busy all the time and then complain that we don't get time for self-care. The real reason is we don't know how to be not busy. We don't know how to spend time with ourselves.

Sitting idle and doing nothing, just looking at the ceiling and thinking about abstract thoughts was a treat that earlier generations enjoyed. This talent is not found in our times. And as a matter of fact, we have made older generations like us. We have ruined their idea of solitude and taught them to be busy for no reason, in things that are supposed to have a time limit. Coming back to the question I raised in the beginning, happiness is a state of mind, that everybody knows. But how do we reach that state? Well, by learning to be with own self at least for some time, unhampered by what is going on outside. If focus on our 2 AM thoughts not at 2 AM but sometime in the day, disengaging ourselves with the world outside and connecting with raw overwhelming thoughts, accepting our insecurities and letting them flow, maybe we can be happy again. Because it is never lost wholly, it is just inside us, we just need to connect to our true self and feel it. Feel the solitude, spend time with yourself, feel your own vibe. Stop searching for the company all the time. Do not overwork yourself with the urge of remaining busy all the time. Find joys in little things.
